WITNESSETH That the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of dividing a tract of land which is now owned in common by them, and conveying to each his share in fee simple, and the sum of five dollars cash to them in hand paid the receipt of which is herein acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and by this Deed do grant, bargain, sell quitclaim and convey, with general warranty of title unto the said Felix Pritchett party of the second part, his heirs or assigns forever, all that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situate in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, about 2 miles N. West of the village of Brosville Virginia, adjoining the lands of merchant and others and bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a Locust Post, corner of tract nos. 1 and 2 on a farm road. Thence with the line of tract no. 1 N 12◦ W 12 poles to Pointers on Path. Thence N 30◦ W 12 poles to oak bushes. Thence N 40◦ W 22 ⅓ poles to stake. Thence leaving path S 75◦ W 44 poles to Pine to merchant. Thence his line S 18◦ E 24 poles to Rock Pile. Thence S 4◦ W 100 ½ poles, crossing two branches to Topped W. Oak. Thence S 42◦ E 17 ½ poles to old Gate Post Corner to tract no. 4. Thence with this tract N 38◦ E 48 poles crossing the Spring Branch to Poplar on Gully. Thence S 84◦ E 17 poles to Locust near large poplar. Thence S 22◦ E, 18 ½ poles to oak. Thence S 56◦ E 30 ½ poles to W. oak. Thence N 34◦ E 4 no. 22 links to Black Gum corner to tract no. 2. Thence with it N 18◦ E 22 poles to stake on edge of woods. Thence N 72◦ W 8 ¼ poles to stake. Thence N 16◦ E 23 poles to stake. Thence N 2◦ E 22 ½ poles to persimmon on ditch. Thence N 78◦ W 12 ½ poles to Peach tree. Thence east 6 poles to the center of spring. Thence N 55◦ W 7 ½ poles to maple, and thence due north 38 ½ poles to the beginning and contains by estimation of L.M. Bass a surveyor of Danville Virginia fifty dix (56’ a) acres of land, be the same more or less, and it is designated on the map as tract no. 3.
