At our first family reunion in 2014 we decided to draw family trees on large sheets of paper. Since there were 12 children of Lynwood and Lizzie Pritchett, we drew 12 trees, one for each child. We sat them on tables and gave the family markers to fill in the blanks. This was a genius idea because 1. It was a great group activity 2. I was able to fill in the blanks I never would have been able to do alone 3. It got more people interested in our family history.
It is my goal to write a book about my Pritchett family. I want this work to be authentic and as accurate as possible. Yes I am the family historian but this research is a group effort. You should never feel as if you have to tackle family history alone. Your living relatives are the BEST resources...so use them!
